Five Classics I Want to Read

1 | Mrs Dalloway by Virginia Woolf

2 | The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde

3 | Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson

4 | Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë

5 | Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen

I would like to devote the next two years to reading solely classics and history books. As a child I read a lot of children's literature and during my teenage and young adult years I read mostly random fiction. I am currently at a stage in my life in which my literary taste is shifting drastically. I've come to embrace this change. In the last three to four years, I have rarely picked up a book that my past-self would have found interesting and I've abandoned hundreds of books on my to-read list with the conviction that my time would be better served reading another book of greater significance.

To coincide with my changing taste in literature, I have also donated hundreds of books from my personal library. I want my library to be a grand reflection of who I am and it's still a work in process. My current reading list contains history, political, and classic literature. Perhaps this is part of growing up, but I also feel within me a great desire to play "catch up". There are so many classics that I have yet to read and it's my goal to read fifty within the next two years; including some that I would like to reread.
