A Starbucks Barista


I recently got hired at Starbucks as a barista. Today was my second day on the job, yesterday was my first day. I'm still in training, of course. Today I learned how to make a latte and cappuccino. I got to work on the register, greet the guests, and take their orders towards the end of my shift. I've worked with transactions and in customer service before so this part was easy. The coffee-making part, however, is a bit tricky. There are many recipes and names to memorize. Machinery, equipment, types of coffee, teas, flavors, grinds, syrups, temperatures, timing, etc. Despite the challenges I have ahead of me, I know I am going to enjoy working as a barista seeing as I love tea and coffee.
